Root D1-MIUI for your Droid (formerly Zen-MIUI)

just as a heads up...i just flashed MIUI on my D1. i also decided to flash Slyher1.1 v1.6...so far so good...

i'm going to recharge the phone then reboot and do a quadrant test...

:D

EDIT: @ 30% charge with Slyher 1.1 v1.6 @ 1.1ghz quad score = 1290 (sorry not pics)

I flashed the newest version and so far I like it..Only problem I have is that I tried to go into roms manager to do a backup and everytime I get a FC...I tried to uninstall roms manager and re install and I am still getting FC's when I open roms manager...Anyone else having this issue?

If you click the Issues tab on the download page you'll see its been reported with the following comment from someone.

"It doesnt work because of a java line in the script of RM during initialization. Its an app/rom compatibility issue. I have reported it to koush of RM."

as it was stated this is a known issue, just boot into recovery and do a backup there ;)

Goddamn this new version is nice!

Eristotle: What problems were you having?

darkside: Themes will be available soon. There were several for v4 but now that v5 is out they all have to be re-ported.

My problem was trying to watch my kids and football and load roms.:p I have v5 running smooth now.

v5 with Slayher 1000LV v1.6 kernel. NEVER happier! Like a whole new phone!

Can this be installed an backed up with clockwork recovery? If so, im all over it LOL
Yes you can use clockwork to install this rom. There is a link in post 18 to download slayher kernels which seem to be very compatible with Miui v5. Post #19 in this thread has a link to version 5.

I'm having trouble with this ROM. I just installed it, and I must say I am very impressed. I really like the look of the ROM and I'm hoping it's stable enough to not freeze every other day (unfortunately that's why I decided I had to switch from BB 0.5). But any time I try to delete an app from one of the homescreens it says system application. unable to remove. Does this mean I can't remove items from the homescreen without uninstalling it? I noticed there doesn't seem to be an app drawer, or maybe I'm just missing it. My other *BIG* problem is that I cannot download apps from the Market. Any time I try to DL an app it says "Sorry, there's not enough space to install this item."

I'm having a problem I haven't seen mentioned anywhere. My girlfriend has a Samsung Rogue and the video files she records on her phone and sends me have always played, no matter what ROM I'm using, but since flashing MIUI, only about half of them play now, and nothing she's sent me recently. Any thoughts?

i flashed this ROM...and was having nothing but problems with it.

it kept FC'ing when i tried to send a text...and it would error out when people would send me a text...

that is a hugh part of my day to day activity...so if it keeps FCing with the basics...not for me. but dont get me wrong...this ROM looks and feels very smooth and different. alot different than other ROMs out there...

so i'm back on UD1...

maybe the next update? :)

How the launcher speeds with this? I've really wanted to try out the Miui launcher but that previous version was crazy slow. And I ended up just installing elite v2 and have been running that for a few weeks now. Is V5 that much better? The last version of Miui I installed was v3.3.

This is probably a noob question but since this is my first time with this rom, how do I delete or add homescreens? I got the thingy to pop up once but I don't remember how I did it because i didn't need it at the time.

Press the Home button twice and a preview of all your homescreens will pop up. To delete one, it needs to be empty and then just press the small x in the upper right-hand corner. To add one, the bottom rightmost screen in the preview will have a plus in the center. Tap that and there you go.

Tap the Home button from your default home screen and it will bring up thumbnails of all of your home screens. From here you have several options:

1. Blank homescreens can be deleted by tapping the X at upper right corner
2. New homescreens can be added by tapping the + next to the last home screen
3. Home screens can be re-ordered by long-pressing the one you wish to move and dragging and dropping it to where you would like it
4. Default home screen can be changed by tapping the house icon at the bottom of the preferred default screen

Pretty cool, eh?

The more I play with this ROM, the more I like it!

Is there a consensus on which of the Slayher kernels runs best with this ROM? I've never switched kernels before, but I have a feeling I'm going to be sticking with this ROM for awhile!

I'm using Slayher's 1.1 GHz kernel, but my understanding is that they all work well. I recommended trying this ROM without SetCPU. I've been running this ROM for well over a month without SetCPU and performance, battery life, and temperature are stellar.

I had some battery issues last night with the stock kernel, but I was also in a concrete building for 3 hours. My battery went from 100% to dead in 4 hours with minimal use. The ROM could still be settling in since I just installed it yesterday, but if not, I'd really like to look at some different options to get better battery performance.

Guys can anyone help me out a little w my problems if you know anything about em? I really like this rom, but as I said I cannot install market apps so I had to install UD yesterday. If I could figure out why I wasn't able to install apps and fix it I might be able to come back. Other than that, I was just wondering if there's any way to access the app drawer, or does MIUI just not have one?
