Is rooting safe on the LG Eve from Rogers. Sorry I am a newbie and have only successfully rooted one phone, the Desire Z.

I want to root my sister's LG EVE.

My USB Debug option won't come up on my phone again. How do I fix this?

I'm having a similar problem while flashing 2.2 V6.3-rc7 on openetna. In Eclair 2.1, whenever I connected the usb, USB Mass storage and debug options came up in the notification bar. Now on Froyo 2.2, nothing comes up, and I can't connect my phone to my pc. All the Android drivers are installed; I've checked Device Manager (WinXP,SP2).

This happening to anyone else??

Also with the same build: no incoming calls, no flash on/off options, and home button not working... FYI...

Hi Andy,

I found this post (mis-spelling is their's):

i heave installed rc7 couple hours ago, first problem i had was that i could not receive calls (did not installed gapps), after installation of gapps and reboot all is fine.

Put gapps on your sd card (leave it zipped) and reboot. I think that is all it takes to install gapps.

I noticed many people are having trouble connecting their phones to their PC's. It's early days ...they'll have it fixed soon.

Thanks Annie,

the other malfunctions (no calls, flash, home button) were surprisingly resolved once gapps tiny was installed on the sdcard.

NOTE: To anyone else having the above problems: MAKE SURE GAPPS MDPI TINY IS PLACED ONTO YOUR SDCARD AS A .ZIP! DO NOT EXTRACT FILES...

I'll wait awhile to connect to the pc... I thought I must've flashed and installed the wrong img or drivers or something. Nevertheless, the recent V6.3-rc7 build on openEtna is great. The team is definitely making LG Eve users happy :)

PS. Why are LG and Rogers still promoting customer satisfaction? As far as I know, 1.6 is still not out... :\

Actually 1.6 is out on Rogers.. but if you install it you lose 'fastboot' and if you want to go up to 2.2 then you have to go back to 1.5 and then upgrade. I think Rogers has lost interest in Eve and they're looking forward to some new hardware although I'm not very impressed with their choices so far.

I'm thrilled you got your phone working again. I'm using the 2.2 dump (with fastboot) that was posted a while ago. For the most part it's working just fine for me. I'll probably test out the V6.3-rc7 build or whatever it ends up as in the near future though 'cause I just love to tinker! :)

i sucessfully installed froyo 2.2.1 on gw620 but i have a problem with the gapps... i cant install it from the phone because the computer recognizes the phone but i cant open sd card... openetna says device not found... i tried to put the zip file on the sd trough a sd card pen... but the phone doesnt find the file... so im lost... i cant find any other way... so if someone can waste some time helping ill be great...
