I was having this same issue (sort of). The market would show an update listed for some of my apps, but when I tried to download the update, the download status bar would either show the download at 100%, or 0%. Some of the apps I could get to complete the update by clicking on Cancel Update, which then brings up the Install button. Others would cause the market to force close. I was finally able to fix this by clearing the data and cache from the market app. (Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>All>Market)

Does anyone know if the Droid2 themes for the Fission 2.0.X ROM will work on the DroidX? There are a ton of them here:

when you did the port of the theme did you use 7zip? i always use 7zip and leave the package open then just copy the new files into it and let them overwrite. that way the original zip stays intact and nothing needs to be resigned.
did you try booting into stock recovery and do a factory reset?
1. power off phone
2. hold home button + power button
3. when you see the m let go of the power while still holding the home
4. when you see the recovery hit the search button
5 then select factory reset.
that may or may not help you.

i tried to look at the pics of the systems on the 2.? thread and 1.? thread but they looked the same.
finally i decided to do a clean install of 2.? as i had been doing the install originally from 1.? to 2.? with the ported theme changes and was unsure if i had been sucessful.
it appears, i believe now, that i wasnt sucessful (now that ive seen a clean install of 2.?) and what i was seeing was the system going back to 1.? with a data wipe, etc.

lol....sorry....if you're a mod you could delete them for me....
i tried to port over a theme (even though it says on the porter no 1. to 2.)
and put it on the 2. fission, then install. basically its a bunch of me asking for feedback and working through it.
of course it failed.
i clean installed fission 2. and have been playing around with porting themes to theme trying to get what iam aiming for at this point, so far it always hangs on the install.
i edited the posts as some were long and i didnt want to encourage anyone to try something that didnt work.
at least i didnt brick the phone....lol....

i did a quick port of the theme for you. i did not test it so use at your own risk. and please make a backup beforehand.
