Help Alarm when the phone is off

Hi, anyone know if the clock alarm work when the phone is turned off? I LOVE and use heavly this feature on Nokia phones, but because I want to switch to Android when I can (I'm from Italy so I must wait to have a G1), I make this question... anyone can give me an answer?

I read on the Tmobile site that YES, the alarm will work even if the phone is turned off.
