question for those who updated to 2.2

ok so i understand a lot of people are having issues after the update..sorry to hear that first off :( but instead of concentrating on the negative i wanna hear the positive! the burning question for me is: does the phone act like it should now as far as response? snappy and a laggy piecer like it is on 2.1? and what are other good things that came with 2.2?

thanks in advance :D

i have had 2.2 for like a week now and i see a HUGE difference. I dont have the same issues i had before, like lagging, phone resetting/cutting of by itself. My battery life is great now. i guess i got one of the lucky phones

My face buttons lag less, and it seems to be running pretty well overall. Youtube looks great, audio sounds great, and I like the new lock screen & clock. Angry Birds (beta version) runs A LOT smoother than it used to.

One thing I've noticed is that my screen seems to get smudged a lot easier since the update. Has anybody had to wipe theirs a lot more lately?

100% difference! I had all sorts of problems like data dropping whenever a voicemail or picture message came in. Also location aware apps would never find my network location. Now after 2.2 everything works. No more data drops, location services work, I love it!

I'm sorry to hear about all the phones that had trouble but I have two Intercepts updated just fine.

nice! good to hear some positive. almost sound like a totally different phone after the update...like a useful phone. i guess i'll just have to sit back and impatiently wait for the VM update :(

i dont the update on the 18th and havent one problem since. i have as well updated my girlfriends phone running smoothly and i personally feel my phone is 500x faster

Most of the problems came from people applying it to VM phones. Or not understanding the change from a Touchwiz overlay to Vanilla android. There were a few bugs not addressed. Overall it was a vast improvement.

Mine still crashes and restarts inexplicably from time to time, but it hasn't happened much.

Anything noticeable running at the time? I also understood from the samsung moment that many had issue restoring data going from 1.5 to 2.1 and using my back up or titanium back up. I used the custom recovery data restore and didn't seem to have issues. I still haven't changed anything on my wife's phone from stock. We had a busy holiday but she is back to normal from stock. I need to recover some data from her notes and shopping list apps but otherwise she hasn't had any freezing or random restarts.
Maybe the data restore method used could be the issue?

That's what I was thinking, that maybe something with My Backup borked it slightly. I even tried reinstalling all the apps directly from the Market, but it still gets flakey from time to time. The sensor is rather sluggish too. Sometimes I get a black screen w/ status bar when rotating the phone. Still getting the occasional upside down screen too.
