google calendar sync problem

Thought everything was syncing properly on my Droid incredible but just notice that anything that I enter in Google calendar on my desktop after 12/21/11 is not syncing to my phone but sync ok from phone to calendar on desktop seems to be an issue how do I fix this or is it just a Google problem that they will have to fix

1. make sure everything is backed up.
2. clear Calendar App data/cache.
3. sync and give it some time. i'm noticing that syncing can take a few minutes - regardless if it's manually or if the sync icon goes away. give it at least 15 minutes to show up sometimes.

good luck.

can you give me some more info on how to make sure it is backed up and how to clear calendar app data cache

any idea why everything syncs within 10 seconds but nothing will sync from desktop to phone after 12/21/11?

1. as far as back up - it appears you have everything saved on Google.com (Gmail) Calendar on the PC side so you are OK and don't have to worry about backing it up as it will stay there. also it wouldn't hurt to use this too just in case -

MyBackup - Android app on AppBrain

2. you clear the calendar cache by doing this -

settings---->applications--->calendar storage----->clear data cache.

3. i have no idea why this is happening but sometimes Gmail sync can be quirky - especially if you have conflicts or are not starting from a "fresh" one way sync in the beginning.

Thanks I will give that a shot
I talked to Verizon tech last night they tried there same phone Droid incredible and had the same problem any date past 12/22/11 that is entered on a computer in Google calendars will not sync to the phone ?
They said it is a Google issue and not a phone issue
Can anyone else out there try and enter a date sH 2/1/12 onto there desktop / laptop computer and see if it sync to their phone I am betting that it will notice

Mine works just fine, I tried entering an event on 12/25/11 and 6/1/12 and both synced immediately with stock android calendar and Jorte.

Thanks for trying that just want to be sure did u enter the event on your desktop computer
I am wondering now if its some strange issue with just the incredible Droid maybe someone with an invredible can try?

Yes, I entered the events on my laptop and they immediately synched to my Fascinate. Don't know if it makes any difference but I use Google Apps and do not have an @gmail.com email address.

Here is the reply that I received today from HTC makers of the Droid incredible

"I derstand the importance of being able to synchronize your device properly with your Gmail account. With the information that you have provided, I was able to replicate the issue on an HTC Incredible. Due to this, I can deduce that the problem is on Google's servers that they would need to fix. The appointments are not being sent to your device by the servers. I do apologize for any inconvenience that you may have experienced. "

anyone else out there with this problem of not being able to sync from a desktop or laptop to your Droid with an event that is created 12/22/11 or later ?

try manually changing the current date of your device to 1-1-12 and then sync calendar. then go back and change the date back to automatic (current date) and then sync again.

Tried that after manually setting it it would set itself to the correct datethen I disconnected the 3g network but then I cannot sync without being connected:mad:

Any other ideas out there
its just amazing that GOOGLE cannot fix this
12/22/2011 and beyond is not going to sync on the Droid incredibles and probably others as well according to the techs I have talked to until GOOGLE wakes up and addresses this issue

Hi there.

I am experiencing similar issues.
Ever since about the 20th of Dec. 2010 I have not been able to sync my Google Calendar on my laptop with my (manufactor-installed) calendar on my LG Gt540 android phone.. Before that date it worked perfectly. Now it's basicly worthless.

Untill Google fixes the issue, or one of you recieve a revelation; I'm gonna use my browser to see my calendar. :(

Hello again.

Try putting your Google Calendar calendar on "public". The second I did it, all the entries I made on my laptop came to my phone!

I hope no creepy people are stalking me now.

I tried that but events after 12/21/2011 still will not sync from Google calendar
You would think Google would fix this before it messes up too many peoples schedules

I have a Motorola Droid 2. My Google account is registered on my phone. However, when I look at the account info, there is no option to sync the calendar. I can sync Contacts and Gmail. But not the calendar.

This is the main or default Google account for my phone, so I can't delete and re-add the account without going back to factory settings and losing everything on my phone.

Any help would be appreciated!

I had. The same issue when I first received my incredible
Verizon tech was very helpful with your issue I would give them a call

Just noticed that US holidays are not showing on my phone after 12/21/2011 as well as all other events

I'd like to jump in on this, because I haven't seen or read anything that really seems to address the root of the problem, especially if, as HTC/Verizon would like us to believe, the problem is with Google's servers. Here's what happened to me: Using the computer, I attached a birthday to my brother's entry in my contact list. The birthday shows up in his contact entry on my phone. His birthday shows up in my Google calendar on line. It does not show up in the calendar on the phone; and both the phone calendar and the phone contacts are using Google, not the phone. Exceedingly frustrating that such a simple operation could be so royally fubarred.

It is amazing that Google Verizon and HTC seem to be looking the other way with this issue
What are they going to to do when we get closer to the date of 12/22/10 and beyond and thousands of users are missing meetings birthdays doctors appointments and missing anniversarys?

I just blown away that such a problem can exist with all of the technology out there.

I don't see how this could be a Google issue, any event I create on my laptop syncs to my Verizon Fascinate. I have created multiple events for late 2011 and 2012 and within minutes they are showing on my stock calendar and Jorte calendar.

it may very well be just a Droid incredible issue even though HTC says otherwise
either way its a big problem that is not being addressed
