Root ( Port ) Galaxy 1.6 on the Behold 2 Final

If you disconnected the phone while odin was writing to it, it may be bricked.

Bricked: When a device is no longer functional. It has the usefulness of a common brick.

When using this ROM, sometimes my volume (phone/notification) suddenly goes really low, even if its set to max. How can I fix this? (only fix I know is to reboot phone, gets really annoying..)
 
I'm using r12 and I noticed this problem. I went into the Sound & Display options menu to disable SD card notifications just like I always do; however, when I untick the box, I still receive audible SD card notifications. Is there any other way to disable audible SD card notifications without turning the sound off completely?
 
Does anyone know how to get the stock android keyboard on this. It seems all it has is better keyboard on r12 and i want another keyboard to use
 
ok, so here's the problem. I'm running 1.6 stock on my behold 2. When I try to root it i get to this line
cat /system/bin/sh > /system/bin/su
and it tells me the the file is a read-only file. What do I do? Am I doing something wrong? Please help because my buddy who has been doing this stuff for a little while can't figure it out either.
 
With this code i got from theunlockr.
  • cd <Directory where try3 is>
  • adb push try3 /data/local
  • adb shell chmod 0755 /data/local/try3
  • adb shell
  • ./data/local/try3 /system/bin/sh
  • mount -o rw,remount /dev/st9 /system
  • cat /system/bin/sh > /system/bin/su
  • chmod 04755 /system/bin/su
  • exit
  • exit
 
that is way outdated....and depending which version of android you have on your behold, it won't even work. you're better off with doing an ODIN flash.
 
where can I find a good ODIN flash? I'm still pretty new to this. Also, I thought it needed to be rooted first before you can do anything like that. Atleast that's what theunlockr.com says.
 
don't believe what theunlockr.com says. it's outdated and irrelevant. do a search specifically in the samsung behold 2 forums for BH_MAN. read all the original posts about 1.5 and 1.6 of his roms.

@smcbride152 i cannot stress this enough, make sure you fully charge your battery before any flash. it will make a slight (well in the case of this phone a pretty good) difference in how your battery life is. if you have any more problems, just shoot a PM to me.

That was actually gonna be my next question. Thank you. I'm gonna give it a try tonight when I get off work. I'll let you know how it goes.
 
hello.! my question is.. when you flash, its ok when your phone is not rooted. if so.. you flash directly? no cmd procedures? just like that? last question :) what custom roms whick has root already"? thanks!!!!! :)) would really appreciate when you reply. sorry for the questions.
 
It is ok if your phone doesnt have root. and there are no adb or cmd required you may need it for recoverys like the oc jfs recovery or ext2. almost all custom roms have root just microhaxos 1.6 needs to replace the superuser files since they dont match.
