Help App question

Firstly if you're installing an .apk file then go to Settings -> Applications and make sure the 'Unknown Sources' check box is ticked. This will allow you to install non-market apps.

Then download Astro File Manager from the market (this app is also good for browsing the contents of you SD card).
Copy the .apk file to you SD card and the open Astro and browse to where the file is located. Select the file and choose 'Open App Manager'. You will then get an option to install.

You can also download apk files directly to the phone by clicking on a download link in the phones browser, Then simply click on install. No need for file manager with this method, although you would need to upload the file from your pc for free with something like yousendit first.

Cheers
