Moved Music Files but path to old still shows up

Hi. Brand new here. Just recently switched from the iPhone to the Captivate and so far am quite happy. I appologize if this has been addressed already, I did a quick search and couldn't find a post like this.

Anyway, I originally created a folder on my phone called Music and moved all my songs into it. When I disconnected, the phone auto searched and found it all and I was happy. I then realized that I had done this on the internal memory and I really wanted it on the SD card. I then plugged the phone back in and moved everything from the internal memory over to the SD card. Yes I moved it, not copied it. There was roughly 5 GB of music and my internal memory now says I have used only roughly 200 MB and my SD card is using roughly 5 GB.

When I disconnected, the phone did another auto search and found all the music on the SD card. I opened up the music player (just using the stock one atm) and noticed all of the songs listed twice. Half the songs (all the songs but half of them) say the music file cannot be found and half play just fine. I thought that the music player was just remembering the old path to the internal so I tried downloading winamp to see if it would see only the external memory songs but it too sees a path to the location the songs used to be. I have tried a lot of things but cannot figure out how to make the phone see only the path to the music that actually exists, not the old path. Any help?

Thanks in advance.

You don't need an app to rescan. Go to task manager end winamp and your stock music player. Then open the app "files" then kill it under task manager and it will rescan your files. Also delete your music folder you created in your internal

By the app "files" do you mean "my files"? as that is the only one I see that is similarly named. If so I did what you suggested (using "my files") and it didn't force a rescan. However it rescans everytime I disconnect from the computer yet still provides paths to the old location. And yes the Music folder was deleted from the internal drive when I did the original move to the SD card. There is no file nor even a folder where the music used to be however it shows up in the music player.
