[RELEASED] The 4.3 inch "Thunderbolt" aka "Mecha" aka "Incredible HD" from HTC...beyond coming soon!

Okay... I just changed my mind... I AM GETTING THE THUNDERBOLT... but first, I will get one for my wife's birthday; and then, once it gets rooted, I will get one for myself. This phone is gorgeous, and it's got the 4.3" screen I want. This phone is just awesome!

So is there an option to shut the phone completely off? I take it what we saw in the video was the phone hibernating?

It looked like a complete re-boot to me. Unless there is a hibernating feature in Sense (I don't like or use SenseUI), I've only seen the *Quietly Brilliant* screen come on with a fresh boot-up. My understanding is that this phone booted up fresh and is faster than hell-o! ;)

Mike said he powered off the Thunderbolt and showed how is faded to black. Then he said he "powered it on" and it displayed the *Quietly Brilliant* screen and proceeded to the boot-up animation which was very, very cool. I'm convinced this was a complete boot-up!

From my understanding, what we saw is a boot from hibernation. I Googled real quick and several websites are saying fastboot is a hibernation mode, but as far as an actual boot down, im not sure without a battery pull. But, this was a quick Google as I'm about to head off to bed, so there may be something to prove otherwise!

Wel, whether it was or wasn't, either way this phone is awesome. I really don't care if it was hibernating or not, I just know I'm getting this phone! :D

Yea... trackball finally decided to stock going left for some reason. But yeah it is showing its age, though it still surprises me sometimes...

Off topic for a sec: I had that happen on two of my Erises (Eri?). It would only happen when my phone was plugged in, and when I would wiggle the charger it would go all the way left. Verizon replaced them free, so if it's still doing it, I'd take it in.

replaced the trackball? Its not much of an issue, just annoying in some instances.

Oh ok. Yeah well, the trackball is not much of an issue, and id rather not have to go through all of the stuff again to root it...

I dont know why verizon is crippling the phone at launch. Why not enable these features right away? Just doesn't make sense to me but im sure someone is going to come here and jump on my back because im supposedly "hating on their phone"
BMX hinted that Skype was working on there software, not VZWs holdup. Is that the crippling you were meaning? I don't have any info on why the hotspot won't be active.
