Here is another possibility:
We know for sure Sprint has HTC Windows Phones slated for this year (much like we knew about the Evo last year at this time). So that could end up being their flagship phone. They stay with HTC, have a flagship phone for sale this Spring, and then release the Android powered Evo 2 next year (when all of the original Evo buyers are eligible for their 2 year upgrade).
That actually doesn't sound too far fetched.
