SE official dual touch VS XDA dual touch

I'm not sure if the UK generic is out yet or not, I'm on Global Generic,

however, this update is a false notification, basically it's because you have the XDA dual-touch kernal that makes the SEUS think that you need to update,
if you did update it, your X10 will have the same version you are currently having except with no root and JIT ( if installed )

so my advice is to wait until the UK generic is out or at least you are sure it will update to the newer version

Thanks for the info mate, one thing thoough
whats JIT?

JIT: Just-in-time, this is a feature found in 2.2 OS or later. It improves the runtime of the tasks in android, in other words, it increases the speed of the OS. you can easily install it and will notice the difference

First install Xrecovery for Xperia 10

Then using the Xrecovery install JIT

With Xrecovery you can easily install custom ROMs or anything desired..

ok, ive just tried this and i cant seem to find the zip file when i start xrecovery. when i look in instal custom zip its not there. do i have to unzip it first then copy to sd card

No, usually you'll find it at the bottom of the list ( after choosing install custom )
you have to keep it in .zip format

oops just realised that at the bottom of the list if i kept pressing down theres more in the list lol will give it a try

You can install the SE DT update over the XDA DT update you currently have. I did this with no problems

Hiya,

Does anyone know when this is getting rolled out? I'm in the UK and so far had nothing

Thanks :-)

Don't be, at&t hasn't rolled out any 2.1 and most doubt they ever will.:)

Yay! (sorry i had to :p)
but updated 2 days ago and i can't say wich one i really like more but both works fine, since SE's one is "official" of course works in more app but very nice...
now i'm waiting to have 4+ :)

I've updates my phone few days ago and I have pinch and zoom now, but only in browser, which is a bit awful:) Would love to have full multi touch :P

It works in browser, maps and other third-party applications. Mediascape now uses the one-finger zoom even in music you can fast-forward with one-finger ( just long press and swipe

well i connected my phone to laptop this morning and was willing to do seus repair to get this update and then reinstall everything but lo and behold, it told me i had an update to get that would give me multi/dual touch (what ever its called lol) saved me some work. i installed jit last week on my 2.1 and have been quite surprised about the speed up of everything very little lag on anything. only downside is that adw ex fc's just about every time i try to do anything, open apps or even move between screens. think it'll be back to adw for me (pity as i liked the moving effect between homescreens on ex and the app drawer movement)
