What features do you want on the Evo 2?

I like my EVO enough, that I actually might go the same exact route that you guys are speaking of. Then again, we'll see what happens within the next few months.

Somebody correct me if I am wrong but I believe you can already do that, you set the notification in the settings for the specific email and, at least with Handcent you can set custom notifications, I don't use the stock messaging app.

Yes that is true. You can set a "default" notification or you can go into your stock messaging app and change the sound and then go into your email and change the sound. So you can have 3 different sound notifications. Doesn't seem like the right forum to have this posted btw.
 
Well - it was a question for the Evo2, then maybe an app, then an answer - just a little coloring outside the lines doesn't hurt.

PS - I just got the sense of Evo2 looking like that little-kids-stuff backwards S, as in Evo S. grrrrr!

He was posting it as a want for the Evo 2, I responded to that post.

I was just going to say that ozcarguide is always wrong, lol. In fact, if you look at the date on that link, it's from right after the Evo launched (June 2010) and predicts we will see that device either in 2010 or early 2011.

I think it's already been proven wrong.

Anyway, on the subject of the Evo 2, I have a theory...

Sprint today at MWC said they will take the next 4-6 months and decide if they will stay with Wimax or switch to LTE.

So if there is a real possibility that they will switch to LTE in 4 to 6 months, would they release another Wimax phone right now?

Maybe that is why the Echo only has 3G? And maybe we won't see an Evo 2 until after that decision has been made?
 
That would suck to delay new phones simply because Sprint is dragging their feet with Wimax/LTE. If you are unsure and may make the switch, tell HTC/etc you want the phones capable of being LTE compatible by a software upgrade then.
 
If they switch to LTE, how long would it take them to build the network? If they drop wimax this soon and hold off on 4g phones, they will hurt growth of new customers. They have me for another year. If they wait until next winter for another phone, I would wait another few months until I am out of contract to decide.

In addition, what would new customers look forward to, slow 3g phones, or 4g options that would be obsolete soon?
 
I want to re-iterate that the next rendition of the EVO absolutely MUST have more internal storage for apps! There are far too many apps on my phone, that still can't be transferred to the SD card and I just ran into an issue with that while trying to install updates. So frustrating to get the "insufficient storage" error.

So PLEASE, HTC...PLEASE make more storage on the next EVO! I will likely send you more money to upgrade again, if you do that!
 
We can probably look at the stats for the Incredible S and assume that we'll get at least that. I hope we get more stuff like NFC though :)

Wimax won't be obsolete since they run on Clear towers. If they do make the switch Wimax phones will still be able to access 4g.
 
I'd hope the Evo 2 or Evo S would get those stats. I'd like the 16GB of storage to not be on a microSD but built in so I can add my 32GB card :)
 
A co-worker of mine just got the HD7, I have to say I like the physical phone better than my evo. It's thinner & sleeker looking. It was very smooth & had a more metal look and feel vs plastic on my evo. I was very impressed, I still love my evo though.

I sure hope Sprint Goes LTE, I have been pretty disappointed with 4G thus far. The coverage is pretty spotty here in Minneapolis area. The upload cap sucks as well, I do have good 4G coverage at my house but since I have wi-fi here I really don't use it that much. When in good signal area it is certainly fast, but not impressed with coverage here. I haven't tested verizon LTE here but I have read some pretty good things about it. Also I would rather the phone be efficient enough to stay on 4G and not kill the battery so I don't have to turn it on and off.
 
You make some good points. Verizon's LTE map already covers all of my main spots and they don't even have any phones that use it released yet.
