WidgetLocker issue

When using WidgetLocker, whenever i lock my phone (sometimes do it unconsciously as a habit) and then unlock it immediately, the regular lock screen shows up for a second, then it goes to the WidgetLocker screen. I did some searching and seems like a common problem but no one has a solid answer except for rooting the device which i don't really want to do. Is there any other solution that anyone has come across?

It's some kind of 5 second rule, there should be a message that shows up when this happens if you use the stock lockscreen slider to try to unlock.

Android has a "5 second rule" that prevents a background process (WidgetLocker) from activating within 5 seconds of the Home Button being pressed. This is very bad for WidgetLocker as you might exit an application with the Home Button, turn off the screen, then quickly turn it back on to check something in your Widget, but WidgetLocker must continue to wait 5 seconds until it can appear.
To work around you can set "WLocker Helper" as your default Home. This means the Home Button goes to the Helper, who forwards it to your actual Launcher. But in the process the "5 second rule" is defeated and WidgetLocker can instantly activate.

This is similar but i don't think this is it. It's when i press the LOCK button not the HOME button. I thought this might be the issue so i left the phone at the home screen for 10 seconds or so, then locked and unlocked it right away and same issue.

I don't think i will be using this app unless i root the phone. Thanks for the responses though

Rooting it will help bypass the rule also if you make it system persistent with the notification icon it also helps

+1 yes its a kind of 5 seconds rule ,its really annoying..!
Note that this isn't something created by WidgetLocker - this is built into Android. Both the "Root Bypass" and "HomeHelper" (if your phone's not rooted) are attempts at circumventing an OS limitation.
