Help Using keyboard to search phone contacts?

I just got the I1 and I must say, I love it so far! I was a little intimidated by SWYPE at first, but it is by far one of the coolest things ever invented! I was wondering if there is an application/widget that allows one to open the keyboard from the home screen so as to search the phone's contents for music/contacts/applications and such? It would make finding things/people sooo much faster.

If I am not mistaken, you can search the Contacts using the keyboard by default. Open up your Contacts list, and the option to "Search" should be on top of everything.
