After following Xanaki's directions, select the Mass Storage option.
THEN, from your home screen, pull down tha alerts panel by swiping from the very top of the screen. Press the USB connected bar and then press "mount".
When you are finished viewing and transferring files, be sure to do the "safely remove hardware" procedurr from your PC. Then, before unplugging, go back to the notifications sacreen on the phone and select unmount. Wait a few seconds for the phone to close out the SD card. Then you'll be able to safely unplug.
