Best Buy Details

Yeah I saw the commercial today on Comedy Central. Hoping for an announcement tomorrow and a launch next week.
 
Hm...I'm not a skeptic, or a dreamer. With that said, the tweet that Verizon sent out doesn't sound like it has anything to do with a new phone, just the network specifically. Don't know who this bennnnnn (heh) or jerry dude is supposed to be, but I haven't seen any evidence that the comments on network speed Verizon has planned for tomorrow is scheduled for 11:00 am specifically.
 
Im out. Thanks for all the info so far guys. hopefully... we're on here tomorrow with the good news of a launch date next week.
 
We already know what LTE speed is so what else possibly could they announce other then the first LTE phone for the network, I am starting to think that it will be announced tomorrow.

I guess I was getting a little tired of the same rumor mills (i.e. the usual suspects) ;) - so today while I was out running errands, I decided to pop into a random Verizon premium retailer just for something different. I asked the standard t-bolt question and expected the canned "we don't know anything" response. But, surprisingly, the sales guy said they were just told the 4th. I asked if he really meant this Friday and he said yes. I asked who gave him this info. and he said corporate. Well, big deal, just another date, right? But then he said they were just given the go ahead for preorders. When I said huh? what? and started to move toward my wallet, he said, no, not for customers. He then clarified that stores like his were just allowed to place their orders, which he did, and they were told they would be here Friday. He was quick to point out that they were also given many other dates along they way as possible releases, so he wasn't promising anything - but he said that this was the first time they were allowed to actually order the phones. He took my number and said he'd call me if they arrived or if he learned anything more.

It's just a story I thought I'd share, so don't thrash me too hard. Look, I'm just thrilled to get a unique response from a verizon rep. even if he's lying to me.

And like most of you...I don't ask for much. Just looking for a good meal at a fair price is all. :)

do specific verizon stores pre-order phones? that sounds like something corporate would do, to me.

Don't really know how it works. But this was not a corporate store (e.g. verizon premium retailer) so it may work differently for them (?).

Agreed! I thought you were saying that an announcement tomorrow had slim to none chances. I've already told myself it's not coming out this week as to not feel sad if it isn't. lol
 
Which one is the OFFICIAL VZW Twitter account?

Edit: Nevermind. When you go to verizonwireless.com, there's a link to what I assume to be the official VZW Twitter. So all these others are just fake wannabe's?

The reason the 4th sounds very possible in this case is because of the current "3-day" sale they're having on older Droid stock and smartphones. It ends on the 3rd. I didn't think they'd release on one of the current sale days, even though it was Thursday. So... in this case... yep, Friday the 4th sounds very plausible.

verizon has a bunch of account. network, marketing people have seperate ones and verizon wireless has its own. Can be a little confusing.
