Found this on XDA and it is in the main lounge on here but I never go in there and not sure if anyone else does...

It seems the apps have been pulled but over 50,000 downloads!

Also I was reading another thread and apparently 2.2 and 2.3 have codes that stop the exploit happening and it has been mentioned that all X10 owners contact SE directly and ask for a patch to eliminate the risk to our phones and we might even get 2.2???

Have you got the link fo rthe other thread as i wouldnt mind taking a gander at what they are saying so that i can email SE direct and see what is going on.

As for 2.2 i think with this latest security risk that has been unearthed we should all come together and push SE for it. The more the better i reckon and you never no the hard work might even pay off
 
Guys just download lookout for your phone. It is free and basically scans every app you download for malware, viruses etc. And frequently scans all your current apps too.
 
Well if you really think about how many android units are out there and that only 50,000 infected downloads happened then you have more chance of being hit by lightening than knowing one of the infected phone owners*

*Percentages provided by me and Heineken lager :D

EDIT: Im in the UK so it's 9:26pm not 4:26pm as time stamp shows so Im allowed to be drunk :D
 
Someone please link another source besides android police or lookout for the 50k-250k infection number.. That would be huge freaking news... apple would push that shit on fox 24/7 for a week straight.. Symantec has droiddream, android.pjapps, and android.gemini listed as less than 50 infections each.

This reeks of a lookout scare tactic marketing scheme...
 
Well as pc coder once said to me...

Without the people that write malware we would not need the same people to sell us the cure for the infection...
