Winamp Stops Playing when phone sleeps

Hey guys, Got a problem with winamp, whenever the screen goes off and phone sleeps, winamp stops playing.

Its not a problem with a task manager as winamp has been set to ignore on that.

Anyone else experience this problem? Any solutions?

Should have gotte PowerAmp... lol j/k..i dunno whats going on wih that, maybe someone else can help.

I guess the easiest way would be to force close or uninstall your task manager and see if the problem persists.
 
The problem seems to only be whilst playing SHOUTcast radio stations...for the usual mp3 playback its fine when the phone sleeps.

Maybe something to do with the wifi sleeping as the phone sleeps?
 
I use winamp and it continues to play.
Also, I could not locate a setting within winamp to turn it off when the device sleeps, so it's not winamp.
 
For those of you who want to experiment with your wifi sleep policy, try this:


  1. Menu > Settings > Wireless & Networks > Wifi Settings
  2. Press the menu key and select "Advanced"
  3. Tap "Wifi Sleep Policy"
  4. Ensure that "Never" is selected

If it's set to never, the wifi connection will be maintained even when the phone is idling. Depending on your use, this could adversely affect battery life.
