Root need help after dropping phone

dear all,

i have nexus one and the power button is not working after it fall down from me and can not be repair.

is there is any soloation helps me to auto lock my phone and open it from the trackball? i have installed 2.2 froyo and there was like build in feature that enable me to open the phone from the ball and turn it off/lock from small widget available in the market.

then i have installed 2.3 gingerbread, then this option have been gone..

so any help or any guide for this proplem, is there is any app helps me to have the same. i have used an apps call screen mod widget, which still not helping me at all.

BTW my phone is rooted...

Try widget locker. It'll disable the stock lock screen and allow you to use other buttons to unlock the phone

is free apps or i have to search it from the web or what?

It's not free. $1.99 I think. The dev does have a link to an older version for free in the description. You could probably use that for a trial.

You can check this out. Might be a problem if you need combo of both power button and volume button, since it uses volume control for power switch.

The other solution is to fix the power button. Yes, it will be pricey with no warranty, but he Nexus One is an awfully good device. You could check both HTC and 3rd part repair options. I think it basically comes down to replacing a cable. Set a ceiling price you won't go beyond and see if you can get an estimate. Much less frustrating and you will love your Nexus One again. :)
