Email app

Is there an Android app where you can use multiple email accounts? I have three Yahoo! Mail accounts and a Gmail account and would like to be able to access these easier.

Yes, however with K-9 mail you can have all (even gmail) accounts in one app. Currently I have 5 email accounts, 2 of which are gmail.

Can that be set up without needed to use POP3 and the like? Basically, do I have access to all my folders with the ability to move things around from my device?

Yes, it grabs all your folder names when setting up the account. It uses push, the same as gmail, so everything is instantly synched with the mail server.

Does anyone know what setting is to set up K9 to change the frequency it checks the accounts for new mail? The default setting seems too long.

From the account: Menu->More->Settings->Account Settings->Fetching Mail->Folder poll frequency.

BTW, K-9 has three sets of settings: Global, Account and Folder. I almost never use the Folder settings; most of what I'm interested in changing is in the Account Settings. Global settings control overall look and feel of K-9.

If you select Never in the settings, it actually uses push and email will arive almost instantly if the server can use it.

I believe that "Never" for a POP3 account means just that, never; you must fetch the mail manually. POP3 mail is "pull" email, which means you must set up polling intervals.

If you are using an IMAP account (such as gMail with IMAP enabled), the polling frequency doesn't matter, as the mail is pushed to your phone and you get it almost immediately after your server receives it.

You can, of course, have gMail read your POP3 accounts and push the email to your phone, which I do for critical emails from my POP3 accounts.

Which mobile do u have....? By default Android provide to add multiple accounts and its fast too....

It's not the mail app that determines that. It's your email account. If you have a POP account then you have to configure it as POP. You can't just decide to configure it as another type of email account (not if you want it to work, anyway).

If it supports IMAP IDLE.
