[RELEASED] The 4.3 inch "Thunderbolt" aka "Mecha" aka "Incredible HD" from HTC...beyond coming soon!

I still don't understand how something that was never given a release date is PUSHED BACK.

Can someone please explain that to me? A lot of folks on here saying it's pushed back and or delayed. Delayed from when?

They had internal release dates, which they missed. Tell me why their marketing material they sent to stores had 2/14/11 as the date on the phone's screen if they didn't have any planned dates....

Come on now. They may not have come out with it, but from INTERNAL VZW SOURCES, they've missed a few launch dates already.

I'm pretty sure you know this already, and for the record I agree with you technically.

It is assumed by many there was an internal release expectation judged by BB having ads printed and circulating since the 14th. Also statements from alleged insiders regarding the readiness of the device itself.

VZW is leaving us in the dark to speculate; however they did make the leading statements that started this ball rolling, IIRC.

there is a difference between internal dates and public dates. internal dates are kept internal because they are dates that they are shooting for, but very well could miss. you don't get a public date until they are for sure without a shadow of a doubt that they can make it

Right, but the difference between the two has nothing to do with the possibility of a date being pushed back. The only difference is whether or not the general public know about it.

***holding my grain of salt***
I'm confused.... what's that mean? It would be suicide to release it or it would be suicide not to?

Can someone hold this grain of salt for me? My hands are full. LOL Anyway, I really hope it's next week as I have decided to wait it out. I refuse to get a device I don't want, simply because I'm a whiny baby and I can't wait (no reference to other whiny babies implied). LOL

verizon's goal was probably to underpromise and over-deliver. this is why they said "by end of q1" while targeting earlier than that. imo anything earlier than "by end of q1" was a long shot due to the product releases they already had in the pipeline aka the apple products.

for those of you saying the release of the iphone and ipad2 had no effect on when the TB would be released i think you're completely underestimating the effort and collaboration needed to support new product launches.

by putting the end of q1 comment out there they still will be able to hit their target time frame. even if they have missed a few earlier target dates...

I understand that, but every single product ever created has gone through tons of internal release dates. getting mad over something you weren't supposed to know, and the company obviously did not want you to know is silly.

the way people on this forum are acting right now is the exact reason companies keep it a secret until it is a 100% thing

I agree with you. Like I said, we're victims of our own motivation & knowledge, hehehe.

But, think of it like this.... Vzw is just trying to give us all time to get our dream phones first!

?.... getting mad over something you weren't supposed to know, and the company obviously did not want you to know ....
if they didn't want us to know about it, they have a crazy way of showing it, as 3 different outlets are advertising it...

They can do what ever they want. There are plenty of other items that are done this way (Automotive makers, video games, music etc.).

Very well said.

We also need to step back and realize that not everything we see or hear has to do with the TB release. I mean look at what happened the other day BMX tweeted about a new phone that he was hearing rumors about that would blow everyone away, said it was over a year away. A bunch of people here tried to take that tweet as meaning something about the TB. Or the VZW post about two devices being the same but one drops your call, had nothing to do with the TB yet people jumped all over it.

We all need to step back and stop trying to analyze every rumor, rumbling, press conference, tweet, FB post, and unicorn fart. The phone will be coming out, I really don't see why VZW would push it back past the 17th.

The internal release dates were always going to be 3/17/11, then VZW thought that it would be adventages to try to get the phone out early, so they internaly (read that word again) started ramping up for a release on 2/14/11. That date for what ever reason or reasons wasn't able to be met. So they pushed it back.

We don't know if there was ever another internal release date, some are saying that the next date they were shooting for was either 2/28/11 or 3/10/11. However the only internal date we really know about (from leaked docs and the BB preorder) was 2/14/11.

So again just sit back and wait, they will anounce the phone and you will either get it or not. Speculating every minute isn't going to help anything. It is driving all of us batty. I want this phone just as bad as everyone else, I love my OG Droid but it is time to upgrade. I'm feeling personally that it will be released on 3/17/11, that is just my opion though and I don't have any hard evidence to back it up.

Exactly. This is all we can do anyway. No amount of guessing or speculating is going to get the phone out any sooner, and frankly it's driving everyone crazy!

buying a new phone off contract takes the edge of all this nonsense:D

hopefully I will have the will power to stick with this DINC until the reviews roll out for the tb

I'm cheap... If I could buy a DInc for $100 or less it would be tempting. Until the TB comes out, I'm stuck with my HTC TP2.

VerizonWireless Verizon Wireless

Zillions of rumors every day. When we DO launch our 4G phones, they'll work great on our LTE network.

@VZW - I'd like to see them prove it!!:p Until they have millions of devices running on their LTE network, it's all talk and no action (or should I say no phones)!! Or maybe this is another rumor?

I went ahead and ordered a GTab today and I got a estimated delivery date of 3/17 that could be a busy day for me if the TB is released that day also lol

On the other hand I'm going to Vegas on the 24th I might wait till I get back to even get the thunderbolt knowing my luck I'd get it on the 17th and breaking it in a blacked out and drunken state lol

You probably will have no worries waiting until after the 24th ;)
