Handcent and Messaging problems

Platform is rooted Droid X running Android v2.2.1

Two related problems, one with Handcent, the other with the stock Messaging app.

Handcent problem is that it will not send pictures. All I get is the little wheel turning and the picture is not sent, even days after I've pressed the send button. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Handcent, clearing the cache, rebooting with battery pull, all to no avail. The little wheel keeps on turning.
Any other suggestions?

While dealing with this, I tried to launch the stock messaging app, with and without Handcent installed. Whenever I press the Messaging Icon, the screen goes black for a second and then it returns to the home screen. I've tried reinstalling it using root explorer) from the messaging.apk in the systems/app folder, but it will not reinstall. Any help will be appreciated.

I had a problem sending pics with handcent until I checked the box to have it resize automatically.
Haven't had a problem since.

Thanks for the suggestion. I went in and checked the box to automatically resize, then sent the picture to my wife's phone. I got the same screen that I got previously, asking me if I wanted to resize. I said yes, as before, and the picture was successfully sent. Don't know why, but checking the box seems to make it work, even though I got the same dialog box as before.

Now, how do I delete or abort the one outgoing message with the picture from a few days ago - the one with the wheel that's still spinning.

I just tried sending a new picture to the same phone number as the one that was stuck and both the old and new pictures just went out. Anyway, thanks pool_shark!

Any suggestions on the Messaging issue?
