Sync Droid to PC
Hi,

I am trying to get my client off of his blackberry. His issues are that he cannot wirelessly sync to pc with an android.

What are the options to get him off of his blackberry exchange server and use and android to do all the same things with wireless syncing?

He needs to be able to:

1. In/out email capability to place in MS Outlook on PC for Archiving
2. Tasks- inputting and completing
3. Appointment/meetings- accepting appointments and changing appointments
4. Contacts-entering new and edit/delete etc.
etc..etc..

Thanks in advance,
M

I would suggest installing MyPhoneExplorer on his PC, free from here:-

FJ Software Development

also install on his phone the MyPhoneExplorer app, free from the Market and also the GTasks app.

He will need a Google account for Contacts and Calendar/Tasks.

He will now be able to sync via WiFi with MPE and in turn, Outlook. He will now be able to edit/sync Contacts, Calendar, Texts, Files and in some cases notes.

GTasks will show up on his PC Google Calendar to edit and sync.

As for his emails, he should install Microsofts Outlook Connector and hotmails can be synced direct to Outlook.

Hope this helps. :D

This is good. Thank you. :)

So, in your opinion is this a complete solution to the BES?

Also, is the Outlook connector something that will allow the sent messages to sync from phone to pc and pc to phone?

I wanted to sync calendar, contacts, notes, and tasks. The only answer I found after looking around was a software program download called Deja Office. You can't do a wireless sync yet - I had a bluetooth sync with my last Windows Mobile device, but it won't work in android. Deja Office doesn't have that capability just yet.

Connecting via the usb port, you'll be able to sync calendar, tasks, contacts and notes.

Wireless sync in DejaOffice is actually available via local WiFi. With CompanionLink running in the background on your PC, DejaOffice's WiFi sync will automatically keep you in sync when you're on the same WiFi network. Any changes made while you're away get synced when you get back without having to push any buttons!
