Need a Calendar App, Widget and AUDIBLE Alarm

Hi everyone,

I use Google Calendar and Google Tasks for all my calendars and to-do lists, and I'm getting sick of the stock calendar app that comes with my phone (Galaxy S). What I need is a Calendar app that I can have events that run weekly, but on more than one day each week (e.g. going to the gym on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays each week), which I can't do in the stock app. Also, I've been using Google's Custom Birthdays and Anniversaries calendar to get my Contacts' Birthdays to my phone calendar (sets them as all-day events), but these aren't syncing at all with the stock calendar app.

In terms of a widget, I've been using the free Android Agenda Widget, however this seems exceptionally slow at syncing with new calendars, taking at least a few days to sync with my Google Calendar. Does anyone know if it syncs with the calendar on the phone (which itself syncs with Google Calendar), or whether it syncs with Google Calendar itself. The reason I ask is that if it syncs with an app (stock Calendar) that doesn't sync correctly itself, then it's doomed to fail. What other good Calendar widgets are there, with Agenda views - I don't like to pay for something unless I KNOW it's good, and I've never bought a paid app yet. Is Pure Calendar Widget really good?

Finally, I'd like a way of setting LONG, AUDIBLE alarms (much like the stock alarm clock) for some events in my calendar, namely all the events in Google's Birthday Calendar. Having a notification in the notification bar doesn't really cut it for me, I'm afraid. What I'd really like is when a Birthday gets added to the Birthday Calendar, for an alarm to automatically be added such that it goes off at a specific time (the Birthdays are all-day events, so a way to set the time of the alarm would be awesome :D)

Hope I'm not asking for too much :D

God bless everyone :)

I use Jorte. free in the market. You have the option of setting it for all day or specific timed events, one-timed occurrence or weekly or monthy or yearly (such as birthdays). It syncs with your google calendar and you can set audible alarms as well as email notifications or notifications in your notification bar. You can also download the US holidays from the market and it can sync with that (I believe that is how I had to do it anyway, it has been awhile). It also has various sized widgets, including I believe an agenda view.

Thanks for that, but I've tried Jorte and I don't really like its widget. However, I will give it another go, mostly for being able to edit events better than on the stock app.

I recently bought Pure Calendar Widget, which has a nice interface. However, I've noticed that only some of the events from Google's Contacts' Birthdays and Anniversaries Calendar show up on the Pure Calendar Widget. It seems like every second event is showing up, which is weird :S. However, this is better than Jorte, on which NONE of my Birthday events are showing up. On the developer of PCW's blog, I think he says something about Google's Public Calendars (Holidays, Birthdays, etc.) having trouble syncing with phones, but I can't remember the exact reason. Is anyone else having/had this problem and knows a solution to these syncing issues?

God bless =)

I use Pocket Informant by Mobihand for my calendartasks. It does more on BB, but it is working fine on my new Thunderbolt. you can enter recurring events, sent your notify times and set categories and colors for different types of events. IE, Blue for birthdays, Red for Work, Green for personal, etc. $5.99 for android.
