It is jailbroken, so you can download plenty of apps for free. I can return back to factory settings or leave it jailbroken.

why don't you just return it and get a thunderbolt from Verizon, if it is not even 30 days since you bought it?

Verizon's new policy is 14 days guys.

Thunderbolt is 249 to 299 from verizon. Iphone is 199.99.
