has anyone in uk recieved rc33(rc9) officialy

We won't have to wait much longer for the Uk update. T-Mobile have pushed the update to 1,000 Uk G1's at random and will push it to the rest of us when they are happy that it is stable. This is the information which has been given to T-mobile employees to pass onto customers if asked. Shouldn't be long now. :):):)

Seein as I have my update, I must of been a tmobile guinea pig then ey lol

Maybe it's because MzBlack has an EU build, and the UK will take even longer.

Strange, considering MzBlack lives in Surrey and I can only presume that the phone was bought in the UK and not Europe. So why her phone would have an EU build on rather than the UK build is puzzling.

We are slowing becoming merged with Europe, before long we will be walking around spending euros on funny long loaves of bread wearing stripy t-shirts, funny hats and smelling of garlic

Vive le G1

I can cope with the euros, the bread, the shirts, the hats... but the garlic is a no go... lol

Has anyone ellse got the rc9 update or is it still just mzblack?
I was up all night waiting for the notifacation lmao ....... tense moments

What date is it going to be released in UK??

I think mine started updating about 4 pm ish but then i lost connection, same thing happend to my brother. there was no notification, was i recieving rc9?

You should have received a notification and would have had to except it so I doubt it was that

Not that Ive noticed...
If its there I cant see it

I would guess that Latitude is switched on within the settings of Google Maps as it is on the versions I have used on other handsets and platforms (Symbian and Windows Mobile)

Have you dug around within Google Maps settings?

Really annoyed. A mate who got his G1 3 weeks ago, got his update this morning.

I got mine in November and am still waiting

<Grrrrr>

You would have got a pop up saying that it was going to update, u would of had to accept it and it would of disabled your fone for a couple minutes while it updated... so I doubt it was the update...

well I've just rung t-mobile uk and according to them there is no OTA update for UK users and they aren't supplying it. In fact the staff I spoke to knew nothing about the update

they say it will come from google and not them as they are only responsible for the sim and the contract, and not for the software on the phone -and that there is a possible link someone on google to download it

so if this is the case anyone know how to download it

Bullshit i got mine the other day and so did a few others, just another company crap and communicating to their workers.
Trust me i work in a call centre taking calls, we get told bugger all.

yeh I told them it was an OTA and they would be supplying it, but they wouldn't accept that, nor did they know what the update done

do you have to keep the wireless settings on to receive it, or just the normal network

how do you know you are going to receive it, do you have to have so much space left on the handset memory

I know the other week I got a network message that says please delete and that's it

Walkerx stop fretting lol, people have already explained how it happens so i will one more time.

It comes via a notification that an update is available, that is it, short and sweet and that is all there is to it.
