fastest guitar solo

I remember a Metalicca interview from the early or mid '90's when they said there would always be someone faster and louder.

I think that guy doesn't have to worry about someone faster for a long time.

Anyone know if The Great Kat is still the fastest female guitarist?

I wonder if the 'world's fastest' title should go to the person that can play a variety of different songs fast. I know a few fast banjo players, but they carefully select songs that are especially easy to play fast, yet their speed declines when the fingering and patterns become more complicated.
