Information on Titanium

Got the phone rooted, bought Titanium, froze the apps I didn't want running at all.
My question is about the backup. Dropbox was suggested - will have to Google that.

My understanding is that Titanium backs up to the SD card. Now if you backup your SD card to the computer, will those files stay on the backup or disappear since Titanium is on the phone? I've had other files vanish if the main app wasn't running.
And if you decide to use a new card, will the whole thing restore from a computer backup?

If you just freeze everything it should maintain the status quo? I don't need room yet, and most of my files are PDF and they go on the SD card anyway.

Thanks,
Zuben

I backup my apps weekly using Titanium Backup and I backup the contents of my SD card weekly to my computer. I recently had to buy a new phone and SD card. I restored my SD card content to the new SD card from my computer and Titanium Backup restored all of my apps from that. I hope this answered at least part of your question.

Got it. Thanks. That means I can just use mass storage mode and cut and paste. S
I've seen articles where drag and drop can leave bits and pieces at times, so I cut/copy and paste.

I think the important thing here is to enable View Hidden System Files on Windows Explorer, so that you can copy everything from the old SD card.

I already have show all files enabled. I got tired of Windows deciding what I needed.
I haven't plugged the phone into the computer yet, so mass storage should now show everything on the card? So if I copy and paste and compare file size, I will have copied everything? I intend to also back up on an external HD along with the laptop.
Thanks

Yes. If you have enabled "show all files", then a simple copy paste of the files is enough for backup.
