Help Android on any PDA?

is it possible to put the android OS on just about any PDA?
i have an treo 750 i would like to put it on. is that possible? i was told someone got it to work on an old HTC phone
 
I want it on my nintendo DS! The opera browser on it sucks something fierce!

They even have a headset available!

But there's no way drivers will be available :(
 
Officialy is not. But you can try, put Android OS in yours I-Mate if your device WM 5,0 or higher.

And now, what I know you don't have official version Android OS for put in another PPC devices.

hello. im new on the forum becouse of this thread.
I am a wm user and i know that you cant just put an cab file onto your device and instal it and bam you got a whole new os. you need to put it into a dev mode so that you can flash the rom on it. AND IF YOU MESS THIS UP (BAD FILE) YOU BRICK YOU DEVICE. AKA IT IS USELESS. so the ownly thing i kan think of is that all of thease cab file ar fake and suspicios. so downt use them.

Actually it is not fake. A few of developers over at www.xda-developers.com have managed to port it over to various HTC devices using the open source code and the Android SDK. I know it works on the Touch Vogue, cuz I've tried it personally.

And it uses Haret boot loader to run on top of WM, so someone just compiled the files and put it on a cab to help the installation process.
 
its already been done, but based on the history in porting OS cross phones or even computer hasn't been real successful in every way~~mainly hardware compatibilities, a system is designed to work in specific devices, and thats the only way to get all the juices out of it, i actually have a tynt ii and tried the emulator u mentioned, the result was not very good
 
Personally, I'm hoping Google is smart enough to know that anyone that owns an older PDA with an OS that never got upgraded (and thus nothing works on it any longer) would be happier than a clam to have them release an android cab for their devices. I've got a toshiba e805, for it's time this one was a fantastically advanced device, vga graphics a larger than usual amount of ram and rom and sd and compact flash slots...quite the device for it's time (unfortunately won't be sdhc but you can't have it all can you). I love this pda but since no one ever updated it beyond windows mobile 2003 nothing works on it anymore. It's an excellent navigator if nothing else......... God I've got my fingers crossed that they do this. I've also got an old dell axim x5. The thing is built like a tank, same problem with it, no newer os on it (even though ms supposedly offered a free mobile update for older devices no one took advantage of it apparently, would rather make you buy a newer device). There's a huge market out there for reviving old pdas, I'd pay fourty dollars for android for my toshiba...I think it would be a fantastic device for android.
