Samsung Mesmerize 2.2 froyo update

After updating our Mesmerize to 2.2 the battery life has decreased significantly. It seems to disappear at least twice as fast and even when the phone is not in use. Any suggestions?
 
None that will really make much of a difference. Just keep it on a trickle charger as much as possible when you're not out and about.
 
the same happened for me, and my phone was running much slower, but after a week or so the phone started to speed up and the battery somewhat increased, although im not ecstatic about it, it still lags occasionally, i might just have to root it, but try and give it some time
 
also check all the sync settings. If it's constantly syncing or every hour it'll use the battery quicker.

I can get a good 2 days with one charge, depending obviously how much i use it, but average use for me is pretty good.
