music goes where?

I'm starting to put music on my LG Optimus V -- but I am not sure where to put it.

I've connected the phone to my computer and I enabled USB storage. On the SD card there's a media folder and in there an audio folder and in there a notifications folder.

Logically I would put music in a music folder in the audio folder -- but we all know that computers aren't always that logical :)

I want to be able to play the entire song with the built in mp3 player, and I want to be able to putt parts of these songs out for use in the Ringdroid app.

Any suggestions on where I should put the music? Thanks!

On the Droid X, I created a music folder and used the default music app that came with the X.

When you launch the app, it searches the SD card for audio files and puts you sings in one big playlist in the app. All my songs were in there. The first time, it took a while to add all the songs because I added a lot but it worked fine.

so it doens't really matter where they are, it looks like :)

cool, thanks. I put them where I thought they should go and the app picked it up fine. Thanks :)

I'm using Incredible S, and I find I just need to creat a folder and then rename it as "Music", then add the songs with AAC or MP3 format in it. My music player can detect it automatically.

cool thanks for the corroboration :) that's what happened with me as well.

Guess I'm too used to traditional computers, where things have to have a specific place or it doesn't work right.
