I still think june 3rd, that way sprint can market it 6/3/3d, something like that... Otherwise it will be the week after, and fyi... all sprint phones do not release on a sunday... The evo released on a friday, therego it will be released on another friday, June 10th the latest
One of the Sprint stores in NYC has their windows papered up and a sign saying May 23, 2011. I couldn't read the rest of the sign. Is anything scheduled for that day?

If Vodafone is confirming UK release of 7/11, I'm more encouraged to think that Sprint will have it 1 month prior. For some reason, I just feel like Sprint would've had an "exclusive" deal with HTC to sell their phones for 1 month prior to the GSM version being released.
If factor in Sprint's 30 day return policy, I'm pegging June 10 as my official prediction as a release date. Even though Sprint hasn't "officially" announced a release date, considering the EVO line already has a great following, I wouldn't be surprised if they felt they didn't need to announce the official release date more than 1 month prior. Just some speculation on strategic planning.
What kind of marketing significance would 6/3 have anymore than 7/3, 8/3, 9/3, etc. in that case? That's just weird to me.
Guess what, my guess of June 10 DOES have some marketing credibility and significance. Can anybody tell me the first date that a 3D movie was presented in front of a paying audience? Don't know the answer, here it is:
3D Movie Firsts
That was back in 1915. Here we are, 2011, 96 years later. To release the 3D on a significant and historical "3D" date would be VERY good for marketing purposes. Can you see the visuals of old black and white videos of kids sitting in the theatre with funky looking paper glasses...and then it flashes to the present where a bunch of kids are sitting in an assembly hall watching 3D movies on their EVO 3D?
In Sprint's press release
Sprint Newsroom | Sprint Awarded Big Honors for HTC EVO 3D, HTC EVO View 4G, Kyocera Echo, MiFi 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot by Novatel Wireless and Google Voice at International CTIA Wireless 2011
it says "Available this summer exclusively from Sprint"
so if that Vodafone date is true that'd point to a pretty sure sign that we're looking at a launch sometime in June right?
I just want a new phone already dammit..I'm using a LG Rumor lol..this will be my first smartphone..we we we so excited
The significance of 6-3 is it is one year after the OG Evo was released (6-4, but still the first Friday in June). What kind of marketing significance would 6/3 have anymore than 7/3, 8/3, 9/3, etc. in that case? That's just weird to me.

I would think the anniversary of the Evo is way more significant from a marketing perspective, than the anniversary of some 3D movie that nobody even knows about. At least it is when we are talking about the launch of the next Evo.I'm talking strictly marketing. 1 year after the original EVO is not that significant for marketing purposes.

You think the first 3D movie is more significant than the first Evo???From a marketing stand point keeping with Sprint's "Firsts", the anniversary of the first 3D movie ever is pretty clever. And that date isn't far after the Evo release a year ago. And I am in marketing, I would use that!
You think the first 3D movie is more significant than the first Evo???
We'll have to agree to disagree on that. I think if we're talking about the latest Evo, then the anniversary of the first Evo is far more important than the first 3D movie. Especially if nobody knows or cares about the first 3D movie, but almost everyone that bought an Evo knows they got it about a year ago.I think the tie in between the first 3d movie and the first 3d phone is very clever, yes. And again you can still use the "A year ago we gave you the first 4g phone, etc".

Right and June 10th still keeps with the year anniversary.
No it doesn't, lol. The Evo was released on the first Friday of June. That is not June 10th, no matter how you spin it.
but there is a flaw in your theory....
many times companies say they are the only one or first.... to sell or do something...
but that is according to their market!!!!
Sprint is usa only carrier!
so what happens outside usa.. does not matter.
example: sprint's first and only 4G!!! guess what? 4G was available outside usa first!
That "flaw" applies to just about every company you can think of. Every carrier, every car manufacturer, every supermarket..
It's just to grab the costumer's/consumer's attention. That doesn't stop them from using it.
You want Sprint to all of a sudden break the mold? Lol
