As soon as I read your comment it reminded me of the progressive insurance commercial where dude was living under a rock, LOL. But yeah, you can pre-order at bestbuy, radioshack and appearantly at some corporate sprint stores. This have been available for several weeks now.
 
Am I the only one who thinks Sprint/HTC will launch the EVO 3D around the time of Apples Conference to release the date for the new iPhone? If I was HTC/Sprint I would want to drown their conference out by having everyone covet the EVO 3D by launching the phone around that time. No better way to steal the glory from Apple.

In theory, this makes some sense. However, I am not even sure that HTC/Sprint could have forseen the backlash that has taken place (especially prevelent in the Forums) for leaving folks hanging on a release date and confirmed price. The locked, then unlocked, bootloader did not help their cause at all. Bottom line... I think they kinda messed this release up a bit. :rolleyes:

this is getting ridiculous, Sprint really screwed this up imho... Last year we knew in April or May when the evo was releasing. I will never ever pre order a phone with no release date. At least last year you knew when you pre ordered the evo, you knew it was coming out june 4th. Sprint is really testing our patience, and yes I am complaining because to me without all their loyal evo owners... they would be in big trouble. that phone last year single handedly saved them imho. At least Apple gives you an exact date when they launch the iphone each year. This is the only year an iphone won't come out in June like it did since 2007. Maye that is why sprint is taking its time, it knows the competition is not as fierce as it was last year. I know there are big phones coming out next month, but Sprint does not view those phones as competition, if they did, we would know the freaking date! Each day I lose interest. I almost want to go to best my and cancel my pre order

Announcing it during the Sprint Cup race makes a lot of Sense(3.0).

I figure the pre-orders were in place to help the retailers plan distribution of their initial shipments. Only those of us hardcore into the situation would take advantage of, supplies will be limited at first, and they know they will fly off the shelves so they are giving us a chance to get it first.

Now, I'm surprised this board doesn't have anyone digging through customs records looking for these shipments. I'm also surprised their isn't anyone that works in any of the retailers supply chains that can confirm the receipt and on-hand inventory or expected receipt of the hardware. They are likely direct shipped from HTC or an HTC Third Party vendor to the individual retailers, but there has to be some record somewhere!

Probably because Customs forms are considered confidential. Yes, you can file a FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) request. But it's just that, a request. And I bet they'd deny it because your reason for the info is "I wanna know if HTC has shipped the EVO3D from Taiwan, yet." Plus you would need to know which port, probably the ships and container IDs, too. And, like the FCC inspection, there could be a confidentiality request of shipments that the government doesn't release for XX amount of days, even with an approved FOIA request.

Heh, well, these guys did check FCC records for HTC. Checking custom records isn't that much of a jump :P
 
Anyone see miss NASCAR with the Evo 3D saying to watch the NASCAR pre face today @530 et time ...its a Sprint sponsored race, maybe news of the release?
 
I've been hearing the same things too over the past 12-18 hours. There was another Twitter post directly from Sprint saying that there would be more information available very soon. I think that was a few days ago... and unfortunately I cant find the original posts either.

But if I were a bettin' man, which I am, I'd put money on the fact that there will be a release date announced today during NASCARs pre race show. Its just unfortunate I need to watch NASCAR to get my phone information now :D
 
Unfortunately, I saw on her Facebook(Couldn't find Bikini Pics, utter fail!)something about them doing a feature on her, so it may not involve the phone.

I think there are two things to take away from this...

1. The fact that there is an Evo 3D in the wild, at the NASCAR event, should be proof enough that something is going to be announced. They dont just hand those out to the Sprint girls without Sprint wanting them to flaunt it around. http://twitpic.com/53omkp/full

2. Lack of bikini pics is seriously disappointing :P

Seriously though, they may be doing a bit on her that is separate from the 3D announcement. Those girls are all over the place during the race so it wouldn't surprise me to see them as a highlight in more than just one part of the pre race coverage.

Forgive me for being way off topic, But am I the only one who doesn't think shes particularly attractive? I mean, at a nascar event, shes easily going to be the bell of the ball, but im fairly certain i wouldn't have a problem mashing her in the face to get the to phone...
