I recently installed 2.3.3 (Build Gingerbread.NEJVD, stock, 3 mobile, UK) as an alternative to taking the phone in for reflashing as it would keep getting fixed in landscape mode. It no longer gets fixed in landscape mode.
It has been factory reset twice since the upgrade.
(1) One cannot select ‘Ask’ for USB mode, defaults to MTP/Kies which results in USB mass storage only being recognised by a PC (Windows 7 and Mac) when ‘Debug Mode’ is set however there is no indication of debug mode (no icon etc.). Debug mode seems to be equivalent to the old Mass Storage mode without debug in 2.2. The phone USB driver is a little unreliable, it often needs a phone restart before it will work.
(2) Power consumption on idle is about 10-20% of 2.2.1 and about 80% of 2.2. By idle I mean WiFi on, 2 IMAP email accounts on 1 hour refresh, and an Exchange account on ActiveSync push. Overall consumption about 25% a day (mainly email and browsing, no watching videos).
(3) Vibration does not turn off even if set to never.
(4) Unreliability in the SD card, sometimes unmounts, MyBackup Pro schedule fails (removal, restart and reinstallation temporarily gets it working).
(5) Some notification failures, in particular charging state. Phone will chime to indicate charging but the battery icon does not change and System Panel does not indicate charging (although the phone charges normally).
(6) The phone is fast (Quadrant score 975-1000) and responsive. Never had a lag on 2.3.3.
I have not seen the 'suspend' battery drain bug and I don't use Swipe so I can't comment on any problems.
Is anyone else getting this or is this just my phone?
