ringtones from mp3 file

I have ringtones from my old windows phone and have them moved to Droid Pro sd card. How do I get them to be ringtones? How do I make a folder for sd card to put them in?

Put ringtones in Media/Audio/Ringtones. So on the root of the sd card, make a folder called Media, inside that make one called Audio, and inside that make one called Ringtones. For any mp3's you want to use for text or email notifications, make Media/Audio/Notifications.

I can't get this method to work. I'm copying over an mp3 file. Is there another file format I'm suppose to use?

restarted my nexus s several times, couldn't find the new ringtone... then I looked a bit ago and there it is! So it is working for me, maybe it takes awhile for the OS to scan for the new rington : )
