i ordered the nokia CA-75U cable that many people have reported works for them to display video from phone on the tv. when i connect it to the tv it blinks for a second but then goes blank and there is no signal. i tried switching the rca's around with no success. do i need a program to do this or something? also, the phone is not rooted does that matter?

Have you tried going to Settings ( from the menu key ) then Display, scroll down to TV-Out and made sure the TV-out check box is ticked?

If you are in the UK, PAL is the standard so PAL ought to be selected on the phone.

my tv is ntsc. i am in the us. i have tried both the pal and ntsc region settings just to see what i got. both not working

The only other thing I can suggest is to try all the input channels available on your TV. My TV needs to be set to AV3.

nice one, i didnt realise the Nokia CA-75U could be used! i have 2 of them in my old N96 Box, going to try shortly - also willing to send someone the other if they want it.
