Let's talk cases for the HTC EVO 3D.

+1 for the Otterbox Defender. Bulky, with ultimate protection, but I am on construction sites often and need it. Love the built in screen protector, lens protectors, and the kickstand/swivel clip on the holster. .....DROP IT ALL YOU WANT!:)

I got my phone yesterday and need a holster really bad for it. I cannot keep putting it in my pocket, especially since i hate cases and screen protectors! are there any holsters/belt clips i can buy that are available NOW

Thanks!!!

Has anyone seen case that is gold or silver colored with a kickstand? Or something with a really shiny looking case that has a kickstand?

Not quite sure I have seen one of those colors around just yet, but I have a Monaco aluminum case for my Evo. Didn't come with a kickstand, because it has a cutout for mine, but they might add it. I bet they will be making one for the 3d in the short future, so keep an eye out.

I like the looks of the Desktop Dock from BB for 50 bucks. If I can sell my old accessories I am getting it. But I really want one from Seidio that will hold the case also like i Had before. But BB there website said order and have shipped to store and then it says will be there July 21st. I am not going to order it but that's too long I want one now. LOL!

Anyone who is interested in the BB platinum case with kickstand is wasting there time! I was in BB yesterday browsing the accessories (which there was alot of cases left) and i was amazed at how cheap the Platinum kickstand case was - the kickstand itself feels like a piece of cardboard spray painted black, furthermore you have to pry it up because it sits so flush in the groove in the case (which makes it even worse)

In all honesty if you want the kickstand go for the HTC official kickstand case, you get what you pay for (well actually i think the BB case is more than the htc version so forget that lol)

I got the rubber htc case from RS (graphite grey) day of launch just to protect (19.99$) and i am happy with it, it even fits into my old belt holster (barely) but i do miss the kickstand from time to time -

You think those are in the stores yet? and i do not want a case, i wonder if the phone will fit in there with no case?

Yeah, they're in the stores, I have one

It would fit without the case, but it would be a little loose. Not sure why you wouldn't want to use a case, it protects it from damage and scratches, while helping it hold it resell value.

Thanks... yeah, i don't know, i never been a fan of cases. I don't like the extra size it adds, and i also, like the way the phone looks better without cases.

Hey guys I'm a soon to be htc evo 3d owner. I currently rock a rooted htc hero and this phone as I imagine will be a HUGE upgrade. Anyways I needed a case that doesn't add too much bulk and soft. Well looking around at cases it seems like the otterbox impact series case seems great. I was just wondering if anyone has this case and could tell me how this case is.

I dont know what Otterbox RS had on release day but not only was it $50 but it was huge, bulky and unsightly - I'd go with a thin case and a belt holster, unless you plan on playing catch or going swimming with your 3D ;)

I agree, it felt like I was carrying a Jeep in my pocket.... I went to Sprint and got the Otterbox commuter. It's a rubber shell with a hard plastic cover. It adds just enough protection to the phone in case it's dropped, but doesn't turn it into an chick anti-magnet like the Defender Series does.

Now what I need is a leather belt case that the commuter fits into... I have checked everywhere, even Fry's. It's too big for even the generic XL android/windows leather cases.

I am still case-less =(

I was going to buy an OtterBox but I don't like the plastic cover over the screen! Is there anyway to safely remove that?

Also, I am still searching for an appropriately sized microfiber pouch for mine. As it stands now my EVO3D is "naked" and only has a ZAGG Screen Protector. Really need a case! I'm having the same problem as EvoMax. None of the pouches I find are big enough for the EVO3D. HTC really needs to release a OEM case for our EVO3Ds!

When I bought my 3VO, I went with the Body Glove case they had at the Sprint checkout counter. It was the only one in the store with a collapsable kickstand at the time. Here's what they look like, but mine is a deep metallic purple color. Otherwise I refuse to get a leather case. They get old and stink over time, and are prone to tear after a while, depending on the amount of usage.

I am still holding out for a Ballistic HC case but I am more anxious about not have a case for a few more weeks than I thought I would be. I am considering not waiting and getting the Otterbox even though I feel I would be happier with the Ballistic case.
I cringe whenever one of my kids picks up the phone to look at/play with it.

I saw that pink case online and it was like 12.99. And when I called my Sprint store I specifically asked if they had the HTC kickstand case and was told yes. Went in there to get phone and he showed the purple body glove one with the stand and that was 20 bucks in the store. But I don't like cases where across the top and bottom in the front shows. And I didn't want purple since I am getting the Seidio Active in purple when it comes out.

i picked up one of those cheap body glove cases. you slide the phone into the case and snap the bottom piece on. works.

im not spending 35 bux or otterbox when i KNOW im getting the ballistic. this body glove one will hold me out...

When I took mine out of the box I just pushed on the plastic with my finger and it came right off. Very easy.

Ok, just got a Commuter. Headed home now to put it on!

Edit: Still looking for a pouch to put this in hehe

Hey guys! Big tip here. So, apparently the Evo 3D and the Nintendo 3Ds share almost exactly the same dimensions. The N3Ds is slightly thicker, longer, and wider.

What does this mean?
This mean almost any Nintendo 3Ds case will fit the Evo3D perfectly.

Even with a case on the phone. I just checked this out and it works perfectly even with my OtterBox Commuter on my Evo3D. The N3Ds cases fit the Evo3D absolutely like they were made for it. :D
Wait, is there a camera cover built into the commuter?
No but it is recessed so when you lay it flat the camera does not touch the surface.

BTW guys. The OtterBox Commuter does come with an optional plastic screen cover. However, the plastic cover has "stickers" on it telling you which side it up and which side it down. When you remove the stickers it leaves a gooey residue that make the screen cover useless unless you can figure out a non-abrasive way to remove the goo. I didn't intend to use it in the first place because I bought a Zagg Ivisishield but it's something to consider.

This is exactly what I want:

I have no idea if the Evo3D would fit in there. It was designed for the HTC HD2 so the Evo3D might stick out the top a little. I could always order it and return it if I was unhappy with it... hrmm...

You and I are looking for the exact same thing! My guess is yes, like you suspect the top of the 3D would stick out since it's a hair taller then the 4G.

I bought the vertical messenger pouch from HTCpedia, they advertise it for the 3D although it is the same case as the 4G. When I put my 3D in it, the top sticks out just a hair and isn't fully protected. They have 60 day return, so I figure I can try it out and see if I want to return it.

The case is exactly what I'm looking for, a leather pouch with NO CLIP on the back, so it fits easily in a pocket and protects the entire device (including screen) in your pocket.

Just wish there was one a tad taller so it would better protect the 3D. If anyone knows of one, please let me know

I just got one of these for $1.50:

It should fit my Evo3D with the Commuter case on it nicely. I would still prefer a semi-ridged soft-leather case with a microfiber interior like the OEM HD2 Case we linked above however.

This is the case I have now, it's ALMOST PERFECT except it's just a hair 2 short. The very top edge of the 3D sticks out like 1/8 of an inch, but is still very well protected. Basically I want this exact same thing (semi-rigid leather pocket pouch with no clip on the back), except just a tad taller so the 3D fully fits.
