Help Strange camera experience in GTalk

verntern

Lurker
Tried out a video chat with my son on GTalk. Connected with no problem and the picture from him on my TF screen was acceptable in quality. HOWEVER - found it almost impossible to keep my image to him level, square and straight. My thumbnail picture in the bottom right of the screen kept tilting at crazy angles, which was naturally magnified on his screen. I was just holding the TF in front of me and no matter how I tried to compensate I could not get a level picture to him. Maybe it is necessary to dock the TF so that there is a stable platform on, say a table? Any opinions appreciated.

hey dude, recently signed up to the Asus support website to keep track of all my tickets, and as part of me signing up they gave me this 10% off voucher to their shop. So I had a gander and came across this:

ASUS Shop - ASUS Eee Pad Transformer TF101 Sleeve

not sure if there's one in the Us, pretty sure there will be, by this might help? though...a very expensive leaning device lol

Haven't had chance to try this yet. Was advised on another forum:

'there is a small slider above your picture and if you slide it all the way over to the left, it should solve your problem'

This is it. The slider is some sort of image stabilization option. If you slide it to the right it over corrects for what it thinks are vibrations and goes nuts. Slide it the other way and the image is fixed. Ive tried turning it on but only a bit as the image stabilization is more of a gimmick than something that works particularly well.
