How to rotate multiple images in Gallery?

Haggstrom

Newbie
I've taken dozens of photos to watch on the phone, but they all need to be rotated first. Is there any simple way to do this, not having to transfer them to a PC and back or rotate each one individually? An app perhaps? I can select all of them at once, but the menu button does nothing, and the choice "More" on the screen just avails watching information about the selection.

If you go to the stock gallery app and open the folder where the images are stored, you can long-press an image to select it and once you've got your images selected, press menu>more and you should get the selection shown here:

I agree that I SHOULD get the selection shown above, but I just don't get the "Rotate Left" and "Rotate Right" options, only "Details". I get all options with only one image selected, but once I select two or more, the rotate function disappears from the menu. I just installed the latest phone updates, but I still don't get the menu as shown above, so I guess I'm in need of some additional app for this task.

That is not the stock gallery for all devices. Neither my Droid 2 nor my Droid X uses that as the stock gallery. For me, that is gallery 3D.

With the stock gallery I have I can rotate the pictures with my fingers, none of the 3rd party galleries allows that.

Is that not a Motoblur gallery then? I suppose it's a bit of semantics though.

In a sense it's "stock" for you, but in the broader sense it's not the "stock Android" gallery

Having only toyed with 2 other Android devices (HTC incredible and Samsung 4G) you could be right in stating the "stock" gallery I have is restricted to Motorola.

You could install the free QuickPic which also has that multi-select-and-rotate-feature :)

Thanks. However, although QuickPic has that option in its menu, the images only appear to look rotated while viewing them in the QuickPic gallery. They remain non-rotated when subsequently viewing them in the stock gallery or when connecting to the PC and watching them from any viewer there.

This is a major problem for me, because QuickPic is also a lot worse than the stock gallery in compensating for the interference patterns that arise when taking a photo directly of the computer screen, so I need to view the rotated images in another viewer.
