Yeah, the author of the article has already updated his blog stating that it was indeed a hoax. Sorry, but Android 3.0 is probably another 2 years away.
 
Android needs to work with the developers and the carriers. It needs to give its partners time to keep up.

I don't see a reason to update an OS every 3-6 months.

I think it's better to just have one update a year. It makes a lot more sense.

This is a "Fake" Current running version is 2.1

I think yearly is a little too long. The beauty of Android from what I've noticed is easy integration of existing software for Dev's when new versions are released.

Well said andriodfan87 - I'm on a 24 month contract on my phone running 1.6 and Sense UI and whilst it's always nice to have the latest software release do I want to be updating it 5 or 6 times over the next 2 years - No!

If there's a massive change in functionality - say in 3.0 or 4.0 than maybe but other than that I'm not bothering (nothing in 2.0 or 2.1 that excites me).
 
I’d love you to do one up for fun that says iphone, Android 2.2
Get that leaked and we’ll have all sorts of fun with the icrowd!
