If I De-brand...?

Hey guys. Just wondering, if I de-brand my T-Mobile U.K Xperia X10i, Will I be able to upgrade to the official Gingerbread? Is that possible/been done before?

Thanks :)

Very easy.

First you need to root your phone (there are more than one method, I think the latest Flashtool can root your 2.1 phone, else try with SuperOneClick).

Then install xRecovery (you will need to download and install BusyBox from the Market first)

Instructions are not clear in the thread but it's easy, you might want to watch this video (the video is outdated so ignore some of the comments about rooting, etc.):

Then that's it, you can boot into xRecovery by pushing the "Back" key a couple of times when the "Sony Ericsson" logo appears, install the ROM following the instructions in the link in my first reply, and follow the instructions for the flashing tool.

If you follow the instructions it can't go wrong!

Just got the official 2.3.3 Gingerbread update from vodafone uk though my pc companion and its works great. :)

Now i have flash woop woop!!!
