Help Buttons stop working a few minutes after re boot

dunphero

Newbie
Hi, I rebuilt my x10i with new buttons and inner housing as I'd had it for 2years and wanted to spruce it up a bit. All was fine after I had rebuilt it and powered it up, then after a few minutes all the buttons except the on/off stopped responding. I rebooted and exactly the same thing happened. I tried to repair/flash but was unable to get the phone into flash mode.
Any help and ideas gladly received, cheers.

it was the new inner housing i had fitted had a connection missing on the very bottom, I transferred it from the old one and now its fine. Thanks for reading.

A while ago I accidentally put my X10 in the washingmachine. Although the device miraculasly survived I have the exact same problem as you described on the forum (all physical buttons except for the power button) stop responding a few minutes after reboot). In your reply post you state you solved the problem by 'adding a connection on your innerhousing'. I hope your solution might be a fix for my problem too. Could you please tell me more about what you where trying to do in the first place or post a link of a site where I can find more information? Thanks in advance!

Take the back off your X10 and at the bottom you'll see a plastic strip that unclips (this runs the width of the phone) . To the right (bottom) of this strip is a copper connector (2 pins). This was missing on my new housing so I repaced with the strip off the old one. The problem was then solved. You may have some crap or corrosion effecting said connector as it went through the wash. Hope this helps.
