Root Gingerbread Swype Issue

I noticed that swype doesn't work in Gingerbread on the Droid 2. I've read around and people say to reinstall the APK and it should work. Anyone know where to find the Droid 2 swype apk?

Go to the SWYPE website. Sign up for the beta. You'll be set then.

You're absolutely incredible. Read my post, says I've "read around" meaning yes, search engines and forums(by the way, this one-that you're on-is probably the least as far as helpful considering how little people know about rooting). I found the recommendation to reinstall the apk BY searching forums and search engines.

So next time you decide to be helpful(and brilliant), do this forum a favor and don't piss on its reputation.

Go to the SWYPE website. Sign up for the beta. You'll be set then.

I did however I had a weird result. It says to disable swype when swype was already disabled. Then when I enabled it the box allowed me to install but it failed. I'm using slideit for now and have access to a few other keyboards, I may just say this battle can be won another day.

You need to completely uninstall the previous Swype version. You can do it using the link I've provided.
