Root Nook Color update 1.3 and Manual Noot

Looks like it's primarily just adding new magazines, with a nod to 'wifi enhancements and other improvements'. Unless you just are looking for new magazines for the NC then I'd say it's nothing to write home about. If you want the update you'll probably have to flash the 1.2 ROM so that your NC can be 'seen' by the OTA push.

If you want an REAL improvement, load CM7. :)

My NC has 1.2 and is rooted via Manual Noot. What do I need to do to get 1.3 on the NC? I can revert it to complete stock 1.2 and can get OTA update; but not sure if Manual Noot will work. I am sure within a few day, someone will have a solution!

I tried upgrading to v1.3 but had problems (lost connection to programs on the home page, unable to connect to Android market) yesterday and so I ended up resetting, upgrading to 1.3, then rooting it again. This experience is based on my NC so you might/will probably fare better.

It works fine now.

Is there any benefit to updating the Nook firmware when using CM7? I mean, there isnt anything Nook-firmware-related on there is there?
 
The Nook will do in automatically, however, once it does, Market will no longer work. If yours has not updated yet, edit the "Build.pro" file in the system directory to reflect version 1.3.0 and it will not update, otherwise your will loose Market until a new root comes out.

I am eagerly awaiting THAT root plus instructions that are written in a language that is user friendly. How long do you think the wait will be?
 
Hi ... I am new here. I have a NC and had rooted running a CM7. Even though I loved it, I wanted to leave it as a reader with the stock B and N, so went back to just the autonooter.

After the 1.3 update came out, and wiped it back to stock, and sideloaded the 1.3 update so I could get my People magazine. I went to the xda=developers website and following their directions, now have a rooted NC with the 1.3 update. So it does work!!
