Help Which Of You Indulge Users Will Be Moving To The Lg Bryce?

Sorry need help I didn't pay my bill and my phone is rooted and I go through process of opening a new account using *228 and when I get to the end where it says programing metro say programing unsuccessful do I need to unroot or any suggestions

That was my biggest face palm: The new phone suffers from poor battery life.

Given my girlfriends HTC Sensation can stay powered on all day long on 4G and have battery to spare, even when it takes heavy texting and calling use, that's the ONE feature that'd make me jump ship.

That's the first 4G phone I hear has good battery life on 4G. I've heard stories from friend suffering from bad battery life on a pleathora of 4G phones including the Sensation.

I have my reasons for staying with indulge but my main one is when I seen it I jumped ship from boost mobile and blackberry my wife had a fit but hay I had to have it so lets say five months later this phones out well I tell you if I'm gonna have to suffer her wrath its gonna be for at least a dual core plus metro needs to upgrade there towers I mean who wants to pay five hundred and only get two bars coverage don't get me wrong when the 4g works It really works but that's the catch when lol

Geez man I've never had to do that after I rooted I don't know. How many times has it failed?

Come into Indulge chat...

KottNet Web IRC

Twice I'm going to store today hopefully they can help I factory reset evadentally we have a good root going on because its still there so... it has to be because of root.

I've been using a rooted HTC Eris for a while now on Metro. Don't care for it too much but it was the best thing to do before all these Android phones came into Metro's stable. I think the new LG Bryce may be my phone of choice over the Indulge as I've seen way too many complaints on battery life. Now with that said I will wait a bit longer after the LG comes out to see if this has the same problem or functions better. It also is a bit thinner and has more internal memory. Of course I'm hoping they don't charge an arm and a leg for it either.

Battery on the lg esteem is going to be just as bad

I can see purchasing Bryce as opposed to an Indulge. I might have myself had it been available at the time. However since I just spent $300 3 or 4 months ago (or even when it came out in Feb)........I can't see spending $400 to replace it with the Bryce.

That and as I said before...there isn't much to speculate about it.

It's not a new phone, it's the LG revolution. Read some reviews of that and replace Verizon with Metro and you'll have a pretty good idea of how it's going to perform.

The only things up in the air is if the bigger battery helps and if the 4G service will smooth out by it's launch.

Another reason after seen the picture. no Carrier branding in the front :D and for those of you on the East coast be safe out there.

As others have already said, I will be sticking with my Indulge because I like the slide out keyboard. Also, I have been mentioning the dev support, full root, wifi tether, extended batteries, and all the things we currently enjoy with the Indulge (believe me, it was not always this way) and it sounds like others realize that as well. The Bryce will be starting all over from zero, although hopefully development might go a little faster.

Development for the Bruce should have a leg up since its a rebranded phone that currently exists. At least the extended batteries should be compatible.

You'd think that, but check out the LG revolution (the phone the bryce is, just from another carrier) forums here, they aren't as far along as I hoped.

Or you probably hoped as well...

what no one is understanding is that metropcs has too much to loose to release the bryce in identical platform as the revolution

remember when the indulge came out it was a nightmare to do anything three months just to root and that was temp root

then the indulge came out for cricket simple root right off the bat that was because the encoding in metros indulge was all changed to protect metros invested interest

now if you think this is not going to be the case for the bryce ha think again the encoding will be all twisted because metro DOES NOT want its costumers rooting the phones they sell

with that said if you think what works for the revolution will work for the bryce i am not willing to put money on that i am willing to put money on the fact that metro has a track record for screwing stuff up and i believe the encoding in the bryce will be a** backwards so nothing that works on the revolution will work for the bryce and we will be in another 3 month waiting period hoping to be able to do something to that phone..

These are just my opinions and do not reflect anyone or anything just my beliefs on how metro will screw up a totally awesome phone LOL

As of now everything is just speculation. I guess we can just hope it has a smoother transition onto the Metro network than the Indulge did. We can only hope, cause as Metro users we do alot of hoping...

When the Bryce can be rooted, bloatware removed, run as a wifi hotspot, and go 24 hours on a battery as my indulge can now, I might think about a change. I am actually very satisfied with the indulge after a lot of modding. And, of course, after the initial price drop that usually happens after the first month or so.
