Android Tv Box Flexiview FV-1

sorry i read all this post from first page and i am not some expert but i follow all your posts and i do most of what you guys described here :o
As your device is not a FV-1, what's written here may not apply at all to your device. I'm sorry, but take interfreak's advice and start a new thread for your device (or find an existing forum for it). What you're doing, is like troubleshooting a Volvo with a service manual for a Chevrolet, and may do more harm than good.

Yes, you are right, thank you for help and replays :)

G'day all, i am having a problem with wifi. I runs ok for 20 seconds then stops nothing happens. have too cold boot to reconnect, the same problem..
any idea's

Has anyone figured out the format of the .osk file? Unpacking and repacking firmware update files seems like a good place to start on the path to creating our own firmware.
<edit>I've experimented a bit, and it's not cramfs and not squashfs</edit>

Is there a way to disable the remote control cursor on the FV-1 box and use only the D-Pad buttons ? I have found it uncomfortable to be obliged to highlight the buttons with the cursor each time I would press a button.

Hi! I've read all the thread and I'm intrested in this product.. i just have a few questions: is it very different from the others android tv products?(if not, i won't waste my time in comparing them :) )
second: can i use my android phone as a touchpad to control it? ( I've noticed most touchpad apps needs a server app running on the other device).
Third: obviously is possible to use it as a media player for shared files,, but does it support ".srt" extensions as subtitles ?
Thank you!
Fabio

Fabio
the only question i can help with is the last. It supports srt, but it is not the device which supports srt but the player you choose and install. I guess default player supports it. Others recommend rock player, others dice, etc. I guess you'll have to try them all (or review in google) and make your choice

Good day

i just got my FlexiVIEW FV-1 unit today and first off look great, bit plasicky but good.
plugged all in and start device on my 40" LCD and nothing happens and then suddenly its there but all green (no other colorss).Go to 42 " in bedroom and nothing. At last got it going on my 24" LCD computer screen.

what would the problem be with color on my 40 LCD ?

Got unit from Warehouse Stationary.co.nz with logiteck keyboard.

Yes, I only see red (plugged) and green (running). You gotta wait up to 5' so it boots up. I don't know why it doesn't shows in your 40" and shows in your 24". I guess it should show fine in all...

I've made 3 videos

I wonder if hardware could play sometime (maybe with an upgrade or future rom) HD without problems... Although I guess this thingy lacks graphic processor for doing that without problems, right?

The Flexiview series will probably never work well for HD video since it is missing a sufficiently powerful GPU. Though most sites say it uses the A8 Cortex processor, the device actually uses the (cheaper) Samsung S5PV210 which though is based on the Cortex A8 is missing the Mali HD processing engine

is there an android box that supports full HD correctly? I was going to give Flexiview as advice for a friend of mine who saw mine...

PS: I know we have WDTV Live, Logitech Revuee and Boxee which do support HD full, but my friend liked the fact it runs Android

I purchased a Geniatech ATV1000 which is currently on the mail. Since there is a thread open for this device, I'll post my tests with it there. Stay tuned :)

WDTV,Logitech is building up to new units doing the same as these units i heard today from gadget geek.

After upgrading to the latest Firmware update from here (this page) the unit runs smoother and plays my videos good but would still rather play them on my WDTV Live setup.

Also this is also new ....

Holy sh......
@Johnny Bravo, that one seems to be THE ONE about Android settop boxes... I guess I may give my FlexiView to my brother and get this one... lol

going to get one of these latest ones and sell the one i use now ..... can make a arrangement to ship you one ?

.....or ship one back to you as most of your country men are her for Rugby World Cup ....... LOL

Need a little advice for updating the firmware on the FV-1. I have tried making the SD card, but SDTool v1.1A, fails to find the card.... why is that??

And so I decided to take the second option to upgrade by copying the file, as instructed below:

Go to /data (This folder is in the internal memory of your Android TV), Press Menu button and select Paste. Then the UpdateKit folder and the upgrade pack android.osk under this folder will be pasted here. Wait for a short period of time until the copy is complete.

This procedure fails as well, because when I go to the /data folder and try to paste UpdateKit from the external drive, it says ' no access' and wont copy the file.

Can anyone suggest how I can update the firmware when both methods have failed?

Thanks
