I am typing on my phone. Excuse me.

I'm just giving you shit... I didn't mean to offend, I'm just a sarcastic smart-ass. :D

But have you partitioned your SD Card yet? That would be the only explanation that I could think of for why ext wont mount.

I. Went into the rom manager and hit the partition SD bit don't know how to tell if it did.

Ok. You said 3.0.2.8 but you gave me 3.0.2.4. Which one. How do I install that.

The 3.0.2.4 is a typo, once you load this (CWM RECOVERY 3.0.2.8),it'll show up on your phone identified as such.

Just follow the instructions for installing CLOCKWORKMOD RECOVERY that are listed in the thread ULTIMATE ASCEND CUSTOMIZATION GUIDE.

When you unzip the file & load the appropriate files to your phone, you'll know they're loaded by witnessing a quick flash on your desktop screen.
Then, unmount USB on your phone, disconnect from your desktop & boot into recovery by using the 3 button method(Volume UP,Send,& Power) & you should then be in CLOCKWORKMOD RECOVERY 3.0.2.8

Can I just install it on my phone without having to connect it to my PC because I don't have one for the moment.

Unfortunately,no.It's about the only thing that requires a PC.Too bad other versions of CWM RECOVERY (besides 3.0.0.5) aren't available through ROM MANAGER.

You can do it on your phone. Here download one: 3.0.2.8 recovery.img or 3.0.2.4 recovery.img then go to your clock work folder on your sd card and whatever the name of the recovery img that you already have rename the one you download the same thing then delete the one in the recovery folder and move the one you just downloaded and renamed in its place. In rom manager it will still say you have 3.0.0.5 but when you reboot into recovery you will reboot into either 3.0.2.4 or 3.0.2.8 depending on which one you downloaded and renamed and moved to the spot where your original recovery was.

I don't have any image files on my phone so do I have to rename something

If you flashed the recovery in RM in the clockwork folder you should have a clockworkmod/dowload/download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/ folder. If not reflash the recovery again in RM. Follow this:

Installing an unofficial recovery.img with ROM Manager:

Install ROM Manager from the market and open it up.
Press Flash ClockworkMod Recovery
Pick any of the listed recoveries
Wait til it finishes downloading
In a file explorer navigate to clockworkmod/dowload/download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/
Rename the recovery you just downloaded and add .bak to it.
Now rename the recovery.img you wish to install to the name of the recovery you just downloaded exactly. (- the .bak )
Go back to the main menu
Press Flash ClockworkMod Recovery again and select the exact same one from the list again. Since its already been downloaded it will just flash it now.
When its finished it will pop a notice up.

I have 3.0.0.5 installed now. I think. I have to buy the rom. Manager. Premium because I have the free one.

Or grab the CWM you want from the handy links sticky and install it using the method explained in the ultimate guide sticky. No ROM Manager needed. My prefered method, since RM is so damn glitchy. I don't even keep it installed.

Rom manager does have 3.0.0.5 because that's how I got. It.
