help with my x10

hey ppl, is there anyway to download 2.3 gingerbread for my x10 if my service provider is at&t
Have they not released it yet? Thats horrible. I have AT&T and have had GB for around 2 months now, im diggin' it. If u want official GB then download and install PC Companion from SE, it'll update ur phone if at&t has rolled it out. Othetwise ur gonna have to use flashtool to flash it to ur phone like I did.

hit me on my email so you could explain to me better in detail if you dont mind
Pretty simple man. I'm assuming you're on 2.1 right now so all you'd have to do is root it and then flash a stock version of 2.3, root it, then flash whatever custom rom you want, if you so choose. I highly recommend doing so because it fixes alot of issues the stock rom has.

Rooting is a process that allows you root level access to the phones file system so things can be modified which will allow you more freedoms than a phone not rooted. You can apply customizations, tweaks, modifications, different versions of the firmware aka rom, use apps non-rooted phones can't use, etc. It's essentially the same thing as jailbreaking an iDevice, but waaaaaay better.

The process can seem daunting but there are some very thorough tutorials out there, which I followed myself, that will hold your hand through every step so as long as you know how to read and follow them to a T, you'll have a rooted device running a custom rom in no time.

Just to give you and idea of what you're up against, read this thread.

It may look like alot, but trust me, I was a noob who was scared to brick his phone when I grew a pair and just did it....I ran into no problems and got it all done the first time I tried. It was a piece of cake!
