media hub movie rentals

I just got my tablet to take on a flight and thought it would be nice to rent some movies to watch. So I downloaded several movies the night before but when I got on the plane they would not play because Theresa no internet connection. I purchased wifi onthelight and watched half of a movie. The next leg of the flight I switched planes and he no internet but was able to watch the second half of the movie. How do isle sure the rest of the movies are downloaded and will play without aninternet connection,?

I never purchased any movies but I think that it needs Internet connection so it knows when your rental day start. I think it starts from the first time you start to watch it, not when you bought it.

I've just tried to rent films using the Media Hub. It let me create an account, but refused to let me add a credit card, giving an error saying "this voucher has already been used". Maybe it's because I have a postcode, not a zip code. Has anyone outside the US managed to rent films?

I've noticed this too. I purchased some TV shows and downloaded them. When I went back to play them without and Internet connection, it showed that they weren't there. This is ******ed. If I bought the shows, I should not need an Internet connection to what?...have my purchase verified? The whole purpose of downloading the content is to watch it offline, like on an airplane. I usually rent movies from Google Movies, and they work fine offline. Given this issue with media hub, I will only rent from Google Movies.

Really?!, they bleeped out my word... r e t a r d e d. This PC stuff is getting out of control.

Got it working and it was a matter of the system needing to know that the rental started. Solution, started watching a few seconds of the movie before I got on the plane while I had a wi-fi connection.

parmegeddon,
I think you'll find that your fix works UNTIL you do the latest Media Hub update. Now Media Hub won't even load unless your Tab is connected to the internet. I've asked for a refund of my downloaded content but don't hold out any hope.

Anyone know of a way to watch downloaded content while on an airplane (offline)?

I rented 4 movies from media hub and downloaded them so I could watch them on a transAtlantic flight. I never got to watch any of them. I called and complained and they never did anything for me. Just said, "Oh."

For the next trip, I downloaded a movie from the Play Store and it worked great. So, I decided to use the wifi in my hotel to download another movie for the way back. At first I was very puzzled by the fact that the movie button was missing from my Play Store app. Searching informed me that movies are only available in the US and a few other countries. The moral of the story is to download all the movies you'll need while in the US.

I do have a question about the downloaded movies. Are they automatically deleted from your device when the rentals expire? I don't know where the files are or how to manually delete them.

I just copy my (legally purchased) DVDs to my Tab. Less headache and saves a few bucks as a side effect. pretty easy to do.
